My name is John Anderson, and I’d like to welcome you to my humble corner of the internet – my tobacco blog. I’ve had a long and fascinating journey in the tobacco industry, and I’m thrilled to share my experiences and insights with all of you.
I hail from the verdant tobacco fields of North Carolina, USA, and that’s where my love for tobacco began. I can still recall the aroma of freshly harvested tobacco leaves wafting through the air during my childhood. It was a scent that would later become the signpost of my career.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to work for some of the biggest names in the industry. I began my career at RJ Reynolds, where I contributed to developing new and innovative tobacco products. After a fruitful stint there, I moved on to Altria Group, where I led the regulatory affairs team, ensuring compliance with the ever-evolving laws and policies in the tobacco sector.
My work has taken me across the globe, from the tobacco farms of Zimbabwe to the manufacturing plants in China, and now I call the beautiful city of Zurich, Switzerland, my home. It’s a vibrant city with a rich history of tobacco trade, and it’s here that I’ve decided to start my blog to share my knowledge and experiences.
In my career, I’ve been honored with several accolades and awards. In 2018, I received the ‘Tobacco Industry Innovation Award’ for my contribution towards developing safer tobacco products. I’ve also been invited to speak at numerous international tobacco conferences, sharing my insights on sustainable tobacco farming and responsible industry practices.
Outside of work, I have a love for classic cars and an affinity for jazz music. Restoring vintage cars is my form of meditation. It requires patience, precision, and passion – much like the tobacco industry. As for jazz, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of listening to Miles Davis on a Sunday afternoon with a fine cigar in hand.
